The Resonate Total Gaming festival will take place on 29th - 31st July in Glasgow at the SECC near the city centre. There is a variety of spectacles on show and there is certainly something for everyone, if you have not read the previous Resonate What's On article then you will find even more on offer.
We are lucky enough to have a copy of Mirrors Edge: Catalyst to be giving away thanks to the good people at Xbox. If you want to be in with a chance of winning this anticipated title then all you have to do is head over to the XBLG Community Facebook Group and enter on our pinned competition post.
It is a digital copy of the game, so once the competition finished on Friday night at 5PM (BST) then we will pick a winner and get in touch with you as soon as possible.
Have fun and please like, share and subscribe to all things XBLG.
Last Saturday me and a small number of friends attended PLAY EXPO GLASGOW which was held a Braehead Arena just outside Glasgow city centre. PLAY Expo being a Games convention hosted by Replay Events Ltd which itself declares the Expo as "The UK’s favourite video gaming expo", this is the first time the popular UK wide games convention has come to Scotland. In this article I shall discuss my time at the Expo as well as what it had to offer.
We recently saw a new announcement video detailing new features for what is to come on the next Xbox system update. As usual the members of the Xbox Preview program will be able to test out the new layout as of now, though be expected to be testing the build and finding bugs. This is the main reason for the preview program, if you are not keen on possible crashes and things not working properly then hold off and wait for the actual build to roll out onto consoles later in the summer.
New features to arrive include the Cortana voice commands which will replace the Kinect Prompt "Xbox" instead it will be replaced with "Hey Cortana ....." which will hopefully stop some annoying Kinect takeovers halfway through a game. If you do not have a Kinect do not worry, the Xbox update will allow you to use a headset to interact and use voice commands on the Xbox One as well. This renders the Kinect even more obsolete unfortunately, but allows people to access some of the Xbox One's fantastic voice commands instead of button short cuts.
