We recently saw a new announcement video detailing new features for what is to come on the next Xbox system update. As usual the members of the Xbox Preview program will be able to test out the new layout as of now, though be expected to be testing the build and finding bugs. This is the main reason for the preview program, if you are not keen on possible crashes and things not working properly then hold off and wait for the actual build to roll out onto consoles later in the summer.

New features to arrive include the Cortana voice commands which will replace the Kinect Prompt "Xbox" instead it will be replaced with "Hey Cortana ....." which will hopefully stop some annoying Kinect takeovers halfway through a game.
If you do not have a Kinect do not worry, the Xbox update will allow you to use a headset to interact and use voice commands on the Xbox One as well. This renders the Kinect even more obsolete unfortunately, but allows people to access some of the Xbox One's fantastic voice commands instead of button short cuts.

Homefront: The Revolution – 20 May

We’ve only got one release this week folks and it’s none other than the first person open world shooter Homefront: The Revolution, developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver.

Homefront: The Revolution is set two years after the original Homefront and follows the games protagonist, Ethan “Birdy” Brady, the youngest member of the resistance, and their attempts to retake the city of Philadelphia from the Korean People’s Army.

The Revolution differs from its predecessor, Homefront,  in that it is an open world game with various districts to explore. Each area is vastly different, from the Green Zone, where the presence of the KPA is heaviest which also means the Resistance has more difficulty moving around, to the Red Zone where most of the fighting has taken place. You can expect to find rundown buildings and a stronger Resistance presence, meaning you will come across weapon caches and other items to help out in the fight against the KPA.

Another change from Homefront is the inclusion of a four-player cooperative multiplayer mode, known as the “Resistance” mode. It is separate from the main campaign and has its own characters, progression, classes and perks. Dambuster studios have also said that you can expect a difficulty level similar to that in the Dark Souls games. So if you’ve ever wanted a Dark Souls experience with guns and set in the City of Brotherly Love then “Resistance” mode is likely for you.

Feel free to check out the trailer below to see if this is your kind of thing.

We are in the middle of reviewing Tom Clancy's The Division right now and while we are playing the game for review we shall be creating a series of Lets Play videos to chronicle our journey. The game has been met so far with critical praise and an interesting relationship between third person cover based shooting and RPG customisable elements to the player character.

We will aim to have our review up in a few days time but in the mean time please enjoy our lets play videos on our YouTube channel which should be going up at fairly regular intervals.
