The Elite controller for the Xbox One was announced at E3 this year, the announcement of the controller was met with a lot of positive feedback. The reason for another controller allows the more "hardcore" players to have an even more precise controller which allows players to map out their controller to their own preferences.

Now following on with that announcement Microsoft have announced the Xbox One Elite Bundle which is very different from the Xbox 360 Elite Bundle. The bundle consists of the Elite controller and a 1TB Solid State hybrid hard drive console which comes in a sleek matte black finish. The Solid state hybrid drive will store frequently accessed files on the solid state partition of the hard drive which means it will decrease load times and can start the console up from power saving mode 20% faster.

Retro gaming is a very "niche" thing in a lot of peoples minds, some people will disregard retro games without a second thought. MEGAbytes Cafe in Glasgow is almost like a shrine dedicated to not just retro gaming but rather gaming culture in general. Located on Howard Street in Glasgow city centre, the cafe is just a few minutes walk from the St Enochs underground station.

A few years ago when I finished work, I would come home get settled and then turn on my Xbox 360; I could guarantee that there would be group of my friends online. We would party up and chat and keep in touch, we would sometimes get together and have a game of something or other. In fact I remember many nights were spent playing Resident Evil 5 for no other reason than, it was fun and we would have fun trying to get all the weapons and complete all the Mercenaries mode levels. Sometimes we would not even be playing the same game, it would just be fun to sit and chat and have a catch up where we could still talk but be doing our own individual things.

When it occurs to me that none of the big games are released in the summer it makes question why this happens? Every year we have a dry spell where we have to wrack our brains to find new and interesting topics to keep site viewers interested. Though if there is no news then there is not a great deal to write about.

We did have a massive game released just after E3 and that was Batman: Arkham Knight and the game was met with the success and reception that was to be expected (though maybe not on PC unfortunately). Usually every year though we do have a low point where we have to make do with the games we already have or possibly just take a break from gaming for a few weeks. It is not the end of the world when we switch off the console and do other things, though usually we like the escapism that comes with loading up our virtual self and heading out on some grand and epic adventure.
