Middle Earth: Shadow of War (SoW) is the sequel to Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor; a very well received and fresh take on the world of The Lord of the Rings from developer Monolith Productions. Set in the 60 years between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. Bilbo is safe back in the Shire with the ring of power in his possession. I remember the hype for Shadow of Mordor but just like Witcher 3: Wild Hunt I played a small section at the start of the game and never really went back to it. Not to say i found the title boring, more so that I knew it required a large amount of my time and that wasn't something i had a great deal of. When I heard that Shadow of War was going to release I knew i would have to find some time to give this title the attention i believed it deserved.
Having seen the films and read the books and watched a lot of YouTube videos on the lore of J.R.R. Tolkien master piece of a world, I felt I would have a pretty good idea of what’s going on. I feel SoW has two sides it needs covered, as its set in such a well-known world I think it’s important to cover the game play aspect and the lore aspect of the title.... so here we go.

With Halloween just around the corner it’s natural for our game libraries and developers to turn there gaze onto the horror genre. Blue Wizard Digital is no exception to this rule but they didn't want to release a traditional horror game. Taking inspiration from the golden age of horror, the 80's they have developed a tongue in cheek tribute to classic horror and blended it with a sliding block puzzle game. Of course there were more than just horror classics such as Halloween and Friday the 13th but cheaply made knock offs aimed to fill the reels of drive in's and cinemas to feed the new love for the horror movie epidemic.

Gears of War 4 emerged on Xbox One over a year ago now, who can believe that! While the birthday celebrations for the game are coming to a close, Gears developers, The Coalition are bringing down the final hurrah. This update includes the last 2 new maps that we will see for Gears of War 4 and marks a milestone for the title. Included in this update will be the support for the new Xbox One X which will allow anyone who is planning on upgrading to the new system to get the enhanced edition of the game from the day they get the console but be warned that the file will just take up space if you're not planning on the jump then it might not be worth adding the extra 4k Game Content file from the System's option.
