Middle Earth: Shadow of War (SoW) is the sequel to Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor; a very well received and fresh take on the world of The Lord of the Rings from developer Monolith Productions. Set in the 60 years between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. Bilbo is safe back in the Shire with the ring of power in his possession. I remember the hype for Shadow of Mordor but just like Witcher 3: Wild Hunt I played a small section at the start of the game and never really went back to it. Not to say i found the title boring, more so that I knew it required a large amount of my time and that wasn't something i had a great deal of. When I heard that Shadow of War was going to release I knew i would have to find some time to give this title the attention i believed it deserved.
Having seen the films and read the books and watched a lot of YouTube videos on the lore of J.R.R. Tolkien master piece of a world, I felt I would have a pretty good idea of what’s going on. I feel SoW has two sides it needs covered, as its set in such a well-known world I think it’s important to cover the game play aspect and the lore aspect of the title.... so here we go.

Resident Evil: Revelations is a survival horror game developed by Capcom and was originally released back in 2012 on the Nintendo 3DS. In terms of story, Resident Evil: Revelations sits in between the events of Resident Evil 4 & 5. Resident Evil: Revelations sees the return of series regulars, Chris Redfield & Jill Valentine with players having to stop a Bio-Terror organisation from infecting the Earth’s oceans with a new form of T-Virus.

Before I start this review I would like to note that this version of RE: Revelations is not a port of the 3DS version however it is the same version as RE: Revelations HD that was released in 2013 on the Xbox 360.

Agents of Mayhem (AoM) was defiantly an interesting title to play. It was quite refreshing to play something that took a lot of its inspiration from the 80's and 90's cartoons and action movies i watched growing up. With its over the top action scenes, seemingly endless waves of enemies and cringe worthy dialogue you would expect from those old shows mixed in with pop-culture references and movie quotes.

If you’re an old school retro fan or a newcomer Sonic Mania has you covered!

I’m not going to lie; these past few years have been tough on Sonic the Hedgehog. What with Sonic The Hedgehog (also known as Sonic 2006), Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations not living up to gamers expectations. What started off as a 16bit Hedgehog sprinting through 16bit environments fighting the “bad guy” has evolved into a fully voiced, HD Hedgehog sprinting through HD environments fighting a re-designed yet familiar bad guy and saving the girl!? (I’m looking at you Sonic 2006!).
