Blizzard has shared today that it is planning on celebrating Overwatch's first anniversary with a double XP weekend this coming weekend.

From June 8th till June 12th (9th for us in the UK) every activity on Overwatch will award players with double the experience. This also coincides with the Anniversary loot boxes being removed from the ingame store once the event ends, so this is your final chance to unlock those anniversary skins for your favourite hero.

Those of you eagerly awaiting the launch of Blizzard's next character for Overwatch needn't wait much longer. The Anchor-Tank character has been revealed to be coming to the already impressive Overwatch roster on March 21st!

The character has been available to play on the PTS (Public Test Server) for the last few weeks. From what Blizzard has released about Orisa she is going to be quite a powered character and there has been several tweaks to her abilities through patches released on the PTS.

Blizzard as a developer has been around for a very long time, they created one of my favourite Real Time Strategy games Warcraft 3. The team knows how to make compelling stories and characters, we have seen this is game series like Diablo and Starcraft. The games created by Blizzard are usually PC games, so when a rare treat from the industry veterans comes out on console you bet it is worth paying attention to.

NOTE: These impressions come from the Overwatch Beta's Stress Test Weekend of the 20th to the 23rd of November on PC, using settings mostly set on low to keep a solid 60 frames per second. This was played with Mouse and Keyboard. Please keep these things in mind, as this will cover the impressions of the game itself, and not how it will run, look or play on the Xbox One when it is released.

I was happy when I saw that my account had been flagged to try out Blizzard's newest franchise in over a decade, and boy was I in for a treat. For the time that I spent with the game, I enjoyed Overwatch thoroughly. Though in a Beta state of development and not scheduled to come out until Spring of 2016, it shows a lot of polish, balance, and love of the ideas behind the game. Though I'm sure many things will be tweaked, changed and added by the time it releases, I wanted to play it more than I actually had time to.

Well, here's a shocker for you. During Blizzcon's Opening Ceremony it was indeed confirmed that Overwatch was coming to the Xbox One, and is now available to pre-purchse. The game is expected to release in the Spring of 2016, and is definitely looking incredibly interesting if any of the gameplay is anything to go by. The decision for Blizzard to release Overwatch simultaneously on the consoles, as well as PC, came from the popularity of Diablo 3's Ultimate Evil Edition on the consoles. This probably means we can expect more console support from Blizzard going forward, which is always a good thing.

The version you can grab on your console is dubbed the Origins Edition, and it comes with some swanky stuff. Including within the game are 5 Hero Skins for the characters Bastion, Tracer, Reyes, Pharrah and Morrison, with Pre-Purchasers also getting access to a Noire Widowmaker skin at Launch. You also get a bunch of stuff for other Blizzard games, though it's unsure how this will work specifically for the Diablo 4 item. You get Tracer for Heroes of the Storm, a Baby Winston Pet for World of Warcraft, a special Overwatch themed Card Back for Hearthstone, Mercy Wings for Diablo and 6 player portraits for StarCraft 2. That's a lot of free stuff just for getting this initial run of the game.
