Card games have always been popular. With what seems like a flooding market it can be hard to chose one. I myself play a bit of Pokemon trading card game online on my PC and Hearthstone on my mobile. We have seen however a recent increase of options on the Xbox. We saw Gwent release in Xbox Game Preview and in more recent times Fable Fortune. Now we see Hi-Rez Studio wading into the battle with their own take utilising Unreal Engine 4.
NHL games usually have a hardcore following in the UK, where Ice Hockey is not one of the most popular sports but it does have more of a cult status around the country. The NHL is big money business in the U.S of A and with that means a lot of lucrative deals and avenues in which they can gain revenue from more people. In step EA Sports and here we have a yearly iteration of another sports franchise, I will say at this moment I have not played a NHL game ever to my knowledge and I am in no way insulting or making fun of anyone who does play them. I would like to go on record and say of all sports I feel Ice Hockey would be one that I would watch if I were to watch any sport.
Today people can download the Beta for free for the upcoming EA Sports NHL 18 from the Microsoft store by simply clicking right here. You will be able to get to grips with the new Creative Attack controls, the first ever Defensive Skill Stick and the new 3-on-3 NHL Threes mode in this beta.
I'm still playing The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. The game is just so vast and every side quest has me wandering from the main story all the time. I love it, but what I failed to grasp was Gwent. I had played a couple games and I don't know whether it was the tutorial or my attention, but I didn't grasp how Gwent worked.
Fast forward to Gwent getting itself its own release with stunning visuals and cross platform play, I've been playing the Beta for the last week, and I've been thoroughly enjoying it.
After the success of the first Halo Wars 2 Beta, 343 Industriesquickly confirmed there would be a second one. Now the date and game mode for the beta has been revealed. The Halo Wars 2 Blitz Multiplayer Beta will be available from the 20th January to the 30th January.
Blitz mode is a card based strategy style game mode that combines deck building and fast decision making you'd find in a card-based strategy game with the combat and tactics you're used to using in an RTS. The map that will be available in the beta is named "Proving Grounds", and you'll be glad to hear that all progress made in the beta WILL carry over to the final copy of the game. There will also be prizes and such for being part of the beta so don't miss out!
Bethesda and id Software have unleashed the all new trailer for the multiplayer mode in the upcoming DOOM game! It looks like the game will feature some glorious high intensity combat like a mix of Halo, Quake 3 and a huge bucket of gore and entrails thrown in for good measure. Numerous weapons feature to tear apart the other people you will fight against and the trailer even shows off the awesome transformation gimmick - become one of the mighty demons from hell itself and devastate your opponents!
Watch the violent trailer now, not suitable for kids!
