Blizzard has shared today that it is planning on celebrating Overwatch's first anniversary with a double XP weekendthis coming weekend.
From June 8th till June 12th (9th for us in the UK)every activity on Overwatch will award players with double the experience. This also coincides with the Anniversary loot boxes being removed from the ingame store once the event ends, so this is your final chance to unlock those anniversary skins for your favourite hero.
Blizzard as a developer has been around for a very long time, they created one of my favourite Real Time Strategy games Warcraft 3. The team knows how to make compelling stories and characters, we have seen this is game series like Diablo and Starcraft. The games created by Blizzard are usually PC games, so when a rare treat from the industry veterans comes out on console you bet it is worth paying attention to.
Blizzard isn't known for many console releases as of late. The only releases recently have been Diablo 3 and the upcoming Ultimate Evil Edition which brings the game to the new generation of consoles as well as including the expansion pack. This new version (also appearing on the Xbox 360) will have regular updates much like the PC version, which is a win for those console gamers who don't really play on PC often. Other than this, you have to go back a ways before you find anything that Blizzard have released on home consoles.
