Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the highly anticipated sequel to 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution, set in not too distant future where human augmentation and robot prosthetic limbs are common sights. The game is a cyber-punk RPG, where players are encouraged to explore levels and decide on their own way to play the game rather than sticking to a linear play through style.
The Deus Ex series has been around since the year 2000 with the original game (set after the events of both Human Revolution and Mankind Divided), the series made its mark on the public and is still regarded as one of the best games ever made by many. The series is now on its fourth console release title, and the second outing as Adam Jensen. The series has been praised for its level of customisation through skill trees and the sheer choice players are given to tackle a great number of objectives. Choices have consequences and players are given plenty of side missions to help gain extra experience and create their own version of the character.
Last week it was announced from Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal and publisher Square Enix that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be delayed until August 2016. This announcement comes to many as a sad and heart-breaking announcement; I on the other hand can only see this as a great and wonderful thing. It will allow the anticipation to build once again for the, while letting the beautiful and in depth world flourish and develop.
You may have heard of Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal and that little game the made called Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It was only a critically acclaimed and multimillion selling game so you might not have.
Anyway, I’m sure you’ve heard that they are releasing a sequel called Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Along with that announcement they have released a trailer showing just how far the iconic hero, Adam Jensen, has come since his last outing in Human Revolution.
At the very bottom of the 18+ section at EGX 2015, just beside the entrance to the press area were two little booths. These booths were home to to presentations that were being held every 30 minutes, one side was showing Hitman and the other Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. I managed to get in at the tail end of a presentation to Deus Ex on the first day, though showing up right as the presentation started meant I would have to stand for the full 25 minute presentation.
The presentation was of game-play footage and all footage was running in game, so nothing unexpected was going to show up on screen. As many of the trailers have shown we are resuming the role of Adam Jensen in this game, Adam is now part of a special task force which is dispatched on special missions. Adam believe some super power is in control of his task force and might be pulling the strings for a lot of major events; he believes this group is the Illuminati.
