Once again we take the accursed journey into the twisted and warped world of Dishonored. The steampunk setting mixed with the otherworldly magic makes the setting for a visually striking world that is just filled with revenge.
Death of the Outsider lets you take on the role of Billie Lurke(voiced by the wonderful Rosario Dawson), one of Dunwall's most notorious killers. Journey as this mysterious character and reunite with your former mentor Daud(voiced by the returning Michael Madsen), and the pair have 1 thing on their minds, to kill a god.
The latest instalment in the Dishonored Franchise came as a pleasant surprise from the Bethesda E3 press conference, in fact one of the few pleasant surprises. The trailer was a nice action sequence backed by the hauntingly familiar soundtrack of the series which was a giveaway to any of the fans.
Now mere months after E3 we have this interesting title being released later this month and it available to pre-purchase today on Xbox One, simply follow this link to the Microsoft Store. Death of the Outsider is priced at £19.99, which indicates it is not a fully fleshed out title but hopefully the game will contain all the signature trademarks of the series which includes replay value.
I wasn't much of a fan of the first instalment of Dishonored and I suppose that puts me in a minority. Being a fan of stealth games such as Thief and Splinter Cell, Dishonored should have been right for me. But it never truly won me over. But now we can all try the second instalment of Dishonored 2.
Bethesda are releasing a three mission trial of Dishonored 2 so you can try the game for yourself. Quite a nice marketing move to allow players to get a feel for the game before prying open their wallets. The trial will be available April 6th.
With Dishonored 2 being a feature of the Bethesda E3 2015 conference, it was logical to give the original game received a facelift and give it another showing on the Xbox One and current generation consoles. This week will see the release of Dishonored: Definitive Edition, this version of the game has up-scaled graphics and comes with all previous DLC for the game as standard. All previous DLC to date include Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches and Void Walkers Arsenal.
Half way through Bethesda's first ever E3 presentation we were finally given a first hint at a proper cinematic trailer for Dishonored 2. From the looks of the trailer the time line has moved on at least 10/15 years from the original as young Emily who was the heir to the throne in the original is now all grown up. As well as being grown up we hear the mysterious voice of The Outsider narrating the course of events that will no doubt set the game up. We see near the end of the trailer that the iconic mask of Corvo the original game protagonist washes up on the shore.
