I wasn't much of a fan of the first instalment of Dishonored and I suppose that puts me in a minority. Being a fan of stealth games such as Thief and Splinter Cell, Dishonored should have been right for me. But it never truly won me over. But now we can all try the second instalment of Dishonored 2.
Bethesda are releasing a three mission trial of Dishonored 2 so you can try the game for yourself. Quite a nice marketing move to allow players to get a feel for the game before prying open their wallets. The trial will be available April 6th.
Some people might have checked out Dishonored 2 already, some of you may have already completed the game and wondered what is next for your adventure? Low and behold that Arkane Studios have announced "free updates" for Dishonored 2 are on their way soon and will come with some new features to add to the game.
New Game + will allow players to restart a new game once their initial play through is completed, players will be able to keep all their existing powers and bone charms when undertaking their new play through. Players will also be allowed to choose which character they wish to start the new game + as, while also having access to the other characters abilities. This lets you undertake the game with Corvo while being able to use Emily's Domino ability (as well as all her other abilites) to take down multiple enemies as once, giving the players far more options when deciding your play style. This feature is only unlocked after completing a full play through of the game. The first free update will be available to players on Monday 19th December.
The second outing for Arkane Studios, their Dishonored series reintegrates players with a blend of stealth gameplay and the mysterious and supernatural goings on that made the first game a stand out title. Moving location from dank and dark streets of Dunwall to a tropical setting of sun, sea and blood stained streets; the city of Karnaca is certainly no place for the good people to visit. The game overhauls its original formulae with a more grand vision and a new game engine to help make a bigger and better game.
As the time runs out on the countdown to the release of Dishonored 2; we find ourselves watching a trailer that not only gives an in-depth look at the game, it showcases the stunning visuals of this anticipated sequel. The trailer has a ticking sound that runs throughout its length which gives the impression of a rush, or some kind of hurry.
What will you do to take back what's yours? The tag line for Dishonored 2 speaks volumes from a simple few words, the betrayal of theft, the quest of revenge at stake, the journey and lengths that you will go to become a person strong enough.
With just over 10 days to go we will see what exactly this game has in store for Corvo and Emily. In this latest trailer though we shall meet the players and the plot outline of what we are going to expect from Dishonored 2.
