So the powers that be here at XBLG have been kind enough to let me do my first proper review and what a task I was handed; the controversial Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. What can I say about this game? Even before its release, Ground Zeroes had been heavily criticised for its extremely short playthrough coupled with an RRP of around £20-30 depending on platform. I have reported on these points previously in my daily blogs; I dislike the fact that what is essentially a demo comes with a price tag. The short play time however, is not something I have major concerns with seeing as it is a demo.
Let me say this first, Ground Zeroes is the first ever Metal Gear Solid title I have ever played; I had no expectations going into the playthrough and no understanding of characters, plot or game mechanics. In terms of gameplay, this will be a completely unbiased take. Please keep in mind that this review is based on the Xbox 360 version of the game and some aspects may be different on the Xbox One.
