It is always very exciting when a new idea pops up for triple A market. We have our indie games that offer us a wealth of new stories and mechanics but it's very rare to see a video game company venture straight into the deep end.
Maximum Games and Iron Galaxy are doing just that with their announcement of Extinction. Which is not a zombie post apocalyptic survival like the name gives the connotation. Instead, it looks to be a high fantasy inspired from Attack on Titan. Not sure? Well here is the announcement trailer:
The couch co-op multiplayer is a dying breed of game, sadly AAA titles like Halo decided to keep it out of the series last iteration. The market now has a chance to emerge with brilliant ideas that bigger companies might not want to risk taking. Maximum Games have created something different, unusual and very interesting, a game based around co-operative gameplay and mythology; appears to be an interesting concept.
Extreme sports games have been taking a little bit of a hit in recent years. One of the most famous franchises being Tony Hawks Pro Skater having a extremely disappointing last outing. Hopefully though Mark McMorris and friends can bring enough (much needed) enthusiasm back into the lost genre of Snowboarding games.
