Resonate Total Gaming came to a close on Sunday evening, the atmosphere was still as vibrant and friendly at the events close as it was when the doors opened on Friday morning. That is probably the most stand out feature of the Resonate Festival, the atmosphere and friendly people that made the event come together.
The event was mainly focused on competitive gaming and e-sports, which was represent in a limited capacity. The games focused on within the show were FIFA16, Rocket League, Counter Strike Go, League of Legends, Street Fight V and many more. With most games not having a long queue time all games were fairly accessible and playable at the show.
I'm a game designer at heart. I love the whole process of game development so I naturally check out the games that are trying to sprout their wings and have lofty dreams. I know the difficulty of development and I have great respect for the teams and developers who fund themselves and their projects in search of success. Here are a few titles I came across that I think you should keep an eye on.
First of all, Blazing Griffin is probably the most well known developer currently at Resonate. They are showcasing the The Ship Remastered and for those who haven't played it on early access, its a clever murder hunt game where you must find a weapon and kill your target without being seen by security or a witness, the whole time you must evade a hunter hunting you, but you don't know who they are. Since early access, The Ship has been featured on a lot of Lets play videos and the team are developing a whole host of characters. If you go along this weekend you can hunt down Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton with a Claymore two handed sword, that sentence deserves an award. Sadly the ship is still on PC but we can hope it will one day make its way to Xbox Game Preview.
One day down, two to go. If you haven't made it down to Resonate Total Gaming event then you should definitely check the Glasgow SECC event out this weekend. Whether you are coming to play some competitive titles, build something in Minecraft, pick up some gaming merchandise, try out some new indie titles or see some Youtubers, its all here.
With Resonate just around the corner and approaching pretty damn quickly, the excitement levels are very high indeed. The Resonate Total Gaming festival will take place on 29th - 31st July in Glasgow at the SECC near the city centre. There is a variety of spectacles on show and there is certainly something for everyone, if you have not read the previous Resonate What's On article then you will find even more on offer.
The great people at HAT FILMS have made a retro and extremely high budget promo video for the upcoming Resonate Total Gaming Festival in Glasgow next month. The video touches on some of the attractions on show at the event in Glasgow's SECC arena.
