Star Wars Battlefront had a mixed response with fans upon release. It never quite held a candle to the original Battlefront games. Much like the prequels did for the original trilogy. I myself didn't think too badly of the re-release. I played Battlefront after EA access gave the game away for free. There was a limited amount of content, but the feeling and the atmosphere of Star Wars was really captured in Star Wars Battlefront. The art style, the sounds and the levels paid a very good homage to the films.
The Star Wars Battlefront DLC train rolls on, this time taking us to the cloud city of Bespin, as seen in The Empire Strikes Back. Players can expect to see all the familiar modes at play here, as well as an all new mode called Sabotage. which sees the Rebels attacking objectives in 32 vs 32 combat.
Expect a handful of new weapons, star cards and of course new heroes; two in fact. On the Rebel side smooth talking Lando Calrissian joins the fray and Dengar the bounty hunter (personally I'd have preferred IG-88) bolsters the Imperial hero roster. Check after the break for the latest trailer showcasing the latest DLC.
With a new teaser trailer for Episode 7: The Force Awakens being released recently, it makes perfect sense to show off even more Star Wars trailers. This time we have Star Wars Battlefront which is long overdue a new instalment if you were to ask me.
So it is fair to say we are firmly in the thralls of 2015. I was sad to see 2014 go because it was a year of good games, it was also the year I was first acquainted with my Xbox One. Though we must not dwell on the past, but look forward to the future and what lies ahead. Though more importantly what games does 2015 hold in store?
The Force will be strong at this years Electronic Entertainment Expo as EA have confirmed that Star Wars: Battlefront will be making an appearance.
Teased at E3 last year with a tantalising trailer, Battlefront will be the long awaited sequel to the 2005 title Star Wars: Battlefront II. This was announced some time after the departure of Pandemic, the original developers, which had Battlefront find its way firmly in the laps of DICE and EA. You can expect the game to be shown off during EA's press conference to be held on the 9th of June. Though if this changes we'll be sure to let you all know through some fancy Jedi mind trick.
