On the build up to San Diego Comic Con TellTale Games have shown their hand to much delight from fans of the narrative driven games studio. The studio released a video on their YouTube channel which highlights the next 3 big games coming out.
The three iconic games coming out will be; Batman: The Enemy Within, The Walking Dead: The Final Season and (much to my sheer and utter delight)The Wolf Among Us: Season 2.
The Three month wait is finally almost over, despite the episode leaking on Xbox One earlier this week, Telltale have released a rather exciting and intriguing Trailer for the next episode in the point and click adventure set in the famous comic series’ universe. Beware of spoilers below as I delve into some of what this trailer shows as well as discuss a few of the events from the last two episodes.
It's safe to say that The Walking Dead franchise has a grip on the world now. The TV show is still going strong and there a constant twists and turns throughout. The Walking Dead comics are growing in popularity too with the shows movement and Telltale Games capitalised with the incredible Telltale's The Walking Dead First Season. Characters from both the comic and TV have turned up and the game delivers a similar and enjoyable story twist with decisions that make the journey that more memorable.
And Telltale have announced another successor in the series in The New Frontier which looks to remind me of the end of Season 4 in the TV show. Take a look:
Even though Halloween has been and gone, the zombie craze will forever live on. Telltale Games have a wonderful bundle on offer out today if you haven't spent all your free cash yet. You can get a collection of Telltale Walking Dead games and the survival game 7 days to Die for £39.99.
You may have already heard of a little game coming to Xbox called The Walking Dead: Michonne from TellTale Games. If you haven’t, I will have to assume you are counted among the great majority of flesh eating walkers. So I can figure you, and applaud on having the dexterity to get to here with your fingers decomposing.
Anyway, TellTale have released an extended preview of the first six minutes of episode 1, titled ‘In Too Deep’, of their newest episodic title The Walking Dead: Michonne – a TellTale min-iseries.
If you haven’t already figured it out, you’ll be playing as the iconic, samurai sword wielding Michonne, voiced by award-winning actress Samira Wiley (who plays Poussey Washington in Orange is the New Black).
Across a three episode mini-series the story dives into Michonne who is haunted by her past and coping with unimaginable loss and regret. You’ll find out what is going on in her head and discover what took her away from Rick and co. and what brought her back. This is reflective of The Walking Dead graphic novels, specifically between issues 126 and 139, so bears no reflection on the story of the TV series.
In the premier episode, Michonne joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors' colony of Monroe, which may just be harbouring the person responsible for the carnage.
The Walking Dead: Michonne - A TellTale Mini-series, will premier its first of three episodes, 'In Too Deep,' this February 23rd on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360. The second episode in the miniseries, 'Give No Shelter,' will follow in the month of March, and conclude with the third episode, 'What We Deserve,' in April. All three episodes in the miniseries will be available for purchase at the cost of $14.99 USD or equivalent, presumably £14.99 for those in UK, when the first episode débuts, including access to the second and third episodes as they become available.
As mentioned before here is the first 6 minutes of episode 1, ‘In Too Deep’. Enjoy!
