I'm still not sure what to make of Siegecraft Commander

At a glance its a solid new strategy game by Blowfish games and its a little flavour of different. I've played the campaign on both sides, all 10 levels of the knight guys, and a few of the lizard men. After the single player there is the option of online, to which I tried a couple of matches.

Tower defense as a genre has had an interesting history. Created as a mod for multiplayer in WarCraft 3 and StarCraft, it soon evolved into its own full blown games. It has grown a lot from its original incarnations, and from flash games to full fledged releases it's become a bit of a popular genre of games. One of these was the original Defense Grid.

Defense Grid tasks you with defending power cores from alien invaders. They come in wave after wave and you have multiple different types of towers to help fend them off. After a successful bout of crowd-funding, the sequel to Defense Grid: The Awakening, a Tower Defense game originally on PC but later ported to the Xbox Live Arcade on 360, is coming to Xbox One. The original, one of the best Tower Defense games lately, was a fantastic game, where you defend energy cores from some evil aliens. There were many different Tower and Enemy types to make you forumlate strategies, and it was generally well received on both PC and console, with the control scheme working well no matter where you may have decided to play it. It was also one of the first games in the Games for Gold scheme.

The game was previously announced for PC, Mac and Linux for the first half of 2014, but it has been confirmed by the developers, Hidden Path Entertainment, that a next gen version of the game is also coming. This is great news, as there hasn't been too many smaller releases for the Xbox One just yet. Though it has only been a few months, it pales in comparison to the Xbox 360's vast library, and it hasn't yet gotten to the point where multiple games are released on a weekly basis. Though this is definitely something for those looking for a smaller experience, and just shows that sometime soon, the Xbox One will have a much bigger library of games than it currently has.
