2018 is almost visible on the horizon and as it grows ever closer, so does the release of Sea of Thieves. The technical alpha is now in full swing and new features are being added to the game to help with the quality of life as well as some fan recommendations. Those lucky enough to be included in the Technical Alpha are able to get there hands on the latest features to be added to the game.
Firstly for those who are to shy or don't own a microphone, the Sea of Thieves team have added in texted based dialogue accessed though a button press. This means that the whole crew can have there say and keep in communication with there crew mates. Players can now vote to send crew mates who have broken the pirate code to the Brig. This means trouble makers can be kept in line and warns the crew you mean business. Another option that has been added is to scuttle your own ship if you find yourself in trouble. This will save it from being destroyed in the short term and make it harder for attackers to gain your precious loot. The upside to this is with a little help from the mermaids you can recall the ship when you find yourself in safer waters.
The last part of this update and arguably my favourite is the introduction of the small ship. This one to two man vessel lacks the scale and fire power of the large ship but makes up for it with speed. With a smaller space, easier to raise anchor, faster turning wheel and a smaller sail to see past, it means smaller groups can skill have an adventure on the open sea.Last modified on
