Standby for Titanfall

I'm a sucker for shiny gaming-related items, proof of this are the Collector's/Limited Editions surrounding me as I type and my personal favourite: my Limited Edition Halo 3 Xbox 360 console, Spartan Green I'll have you know. So when I heard that Xbox and Respawn Entertainment were releasing a Titanfall-themed controller for the Xbox One, I immediately went for a closer inspection.

Combining style with substance, the already much-improved Xbox One controller gets a makeover.

First impressions are that they have quite nicely captured the essence of the eagerly-anticipated futuristic shooter. With Respawn Entertainment designing the skin, it is based on the C-101 carbine used by the elite IMC titan pilots of the Frontier. Beauty, of course, is in the eyes of the beholder. However, the design gives off both a futuristic and military vibe that I can greatly associate with the aforementioned Spartan Green 360.

I am a big fan of style and substance and it is clear in this case that the Xbox and Respawn teams have managed to obtain just that. The Xbox One controller attempts to improve on the perfection that was the 360 controller and for the most part has done so. The graphical design I'm sure, will also add to the Titanfall experience.

The controller has been available for order exclusively via GAME UK for around a week now and it seems I'm not the only one impressed by the slick graphical design. All stock of the controller have sold out rapidly with no indication of restocking as of yet.

"Have you seen Titanfall?" asks Xbox's very own Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb. Well, if the controller is anything to go by (and the leaked alpha-build gameplay circulating the internet *hint hint*). Yes, I have seen Titanfall, and it's very impressive.

The winner of 80 worldwide gaming awards drops in the UK on 14th March 2014.
