If the Xbox One has been missing one thing, it’s been an online open-world survival game in which you can ride dinosaurs like horses. WELL, FRET NO MORE. Thanks to Microsoft’s version of Steam’s Early Access programme, Xbox Game Preview, you can now sample the delights of Studio Wildcard’s ARK: Survival Evolved which is, well, an online open-world survival game in which you can ride dinosaurs like horses.
Available since June on PC, the Xbox One version of ARK: Survival Evolved contains all content released to date, as well as some platform-exclusive content including a Bionic “Tek” T-Rex, Safari Hat, and Survivor’s Trophy, free access to Xbox-specific ARK official servers (up to 70 can play on a server simultaneously), and a steady delivery of exclusive Xbox One content prior to the launch of the full game next year.
There’s a free trial available on the Game Store now, or you can take the plunge on the “full” product for £27.99, but please remember that this game is a work in progress, so be prepared for bugs and glitches, as well as gameplay changes and progress resets.
ARK: Survival Evolved launches in full in June 2016.
