As story lines go, the Destiny series plays those cards pretty close to the Travellers chest. We still don’t know what exactly the encroaching Darkness is and who exactly is the time travelling Exo from D1. However starting 31st July the Solstice of Heroes celebration comes to the tower and we have all experienced this before…
The celebration was actually featured in the opening mission of Destiny 2 and was quite rudely interrupted by Ghaul and his Red Legion chums. In Destiny lore the event is a celebration of Humanity’s victory at Six Fronts – the event that united the Last City and the formation of the Vanguard.
Bungie has given us some information on how this celebration is going to play out. During the event players are able to don their broken armor (last seen in the first mission) and have the chance to restore it to its former glory. This is achieved by completing milestones that will up the armors power level as well as alter its apperance.
Also launching as part of the celebration are Redux missions. These five missions are: Homecoming, Spark, Payback, 1AU and finally – Chosen. These missions will receive modifiers – more akin to Nightfall strikes, which will see them played on different ways.
Thats not all! Also making a return is…No not Eris Morn butttt….Moments of Triumphs! These milestones are currently live, however with the launch of the celebration the final five triumphs will be available. These range from finishing the Red War, to Crucible kills and Raid completion.
These are just a small part of whats coming to Destiny 2. Check out Bungie.net for more information.
