EA yesterday announced a new service which be available exclusively for Xbox One. They have partnered with Microsoft to offer Xbox One users EA Access which is a pay monthly ( or yearly) service and starts at $4.99 per month. EA state that it is a service which is designed to make it easier for gamers to play EA games. The subscription will provide access to The Vault which is a collection of EA games which can be downloaded and played. At first FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggel 2 and Battlefield 4 will be available with more titles being added in due course.
EA Access members also will receive a 10% discount on all EA digital content purchased for the Xbox One through the Xbox Games Store. Another tantalising aspect is that members will be able to play trials of new EA games up to five days prior to release and if the you then decide to buy the game your progress will be saved and you can just continue where you left off.
EA Access began limited Beta testing yesterday for a limited number of gamers but is expected to launch for everyone soon. This was quite a big announcement and may the set the benchmark for the future of gaming, Let us know your thoughts on this.
