April 8th, at the New York International Auto show, Microsoft and Porsche announced their collaboration to work together on a six year partnership and a suite of co-branded initiatives. The partnership is already live with the open registration for Porsche’s esports sponsorship debut in Forza Racing Championship Season 3: The Porsche Cup – the most inclusive racing esports program and home to the largest online racing community in gaming.
Forza Racing Championship 2017 kicks off over the Easter weekend (15th and 16th April), showcasing 18 extremely talented and experienced Forza competitors from around the world. The event will take place at the Porsche Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York, the prize pot for the event is a very tidy $25,000 sum.
There is also going to be a Drift Competition between 2 of ForzaRC’s top drifters to keep an eye out over the weekends planned excitement. The whole event will be live to watch on Beam Livestream, Twitch and YouTube; so there are plenty of ways to stay tuned and watch the event online.
The beginning of the season starts in Newy York, though this is just the beginning, following the invitation Season 3 players can participate in Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 3. Players will get a chance to race in a wide variety of Porsche models over four weeks or competitive racing, which brings them to the finals event at a special and yet undisclosed location, where winners will take home $100,000 in cash prizes.
