Registration has opened today for those wanting to take part in the Tropico 5 Beta Testing which is set to take place in March 2014. Potential applicants are being urged to register especially those with a love of city-building games and a bit of experience of playing titles within the genre.

This fifth instalment sees the game take a new direction into that of dynasties and features a lot of new gameplay features and completely redesigned artwork. As El Presidente you are in control of the island of Tropico, you first take the reins during colonial times, and it is up to you to safely guide it and all within it through the centuries. It will be up to you to ensure that things progress smoothly through the ages. Another exciting new addition to the franchise is that co-op and competitive multiplayer will be making an appearance for the first time. Currently slated for a Q2 2014 release on the Xbox 360 although obviously still subject to confirmation.
