World of Tanks – Winter Games Update

If you are one of the 17 million people playing Wargaming’s free to play online hit, War of Tanks then we have a whole load of news for you!

The Winter Games are currently in full swing and promise great rewards for players who tackle the new in-game operations. Earning points in these ops can get you daily, monthly, quarterly and annual loot. This loot can be consisting of items such as Gold, Silver, XP and boosts, Consumables and much more.
The highlight reward of Alpha week is a store discount on the terrifying Thunderbolt tank. If you have not got in on the action yet don’t worry, there’s still nearly a week left with Winter Games Bravo starting on 1st February.

Alongside the Winter Games there is a brand-new game mode launching on 29th January and runs till February 4th called Core Breach. This is a massive shake up in the game as not only is it a 4v4 rather than the usual 15v15 match up, but you will be battling it out in giant Mech Suits!!!

There are two mechs available to start crushing with; the giant Iron Soldier from the US and the sleek and deadly Steel Comrade from the USSR. Both have the same compliment of weapons – lasers, missiles, machine guns and plenty of health to battle on with.
You will be fighting on the snow laden map Old River city, littered with destructible environments to be stomping through in order to get to your enemies. You will have to watch out during your battles however, as destroyed mechs will suffer a core breach capable of levelling whole city blocks and any mechs within reach.

And as if that isn’t enough to get your adrenaline glands pumping, two new tanks are also being released this month!

First is the Javelin Krupp-Steyr Waffenträger – A marvel of German engineering equipped with welded-on spaced armour and a highly-accurate gun that rarely fails to miss it’s mark.

The second is the newest original Premium Mercenary vehicle to be released called the Skullcap. This is a great front line support vehicle sporting quick handling, armour designed to counter against flanking and a fast-firing gun.

And if you didn’t already know, World of Tanks is free to play so get on the store and download it, you’ve got no excuse not to!

I'm a bearded guy in his 30's who still loves to game as much as I did when I was a kid. In fact I'm pretty much still a kid! Love to play driving sims, shooters, puzzle, strategy and survival games the most. Also cant resist a really good RPG here and there.
